... But My righteousness will be forever, and My salvation from generation to generation.” Isaiah 51:8b

Last week, God’s word reminded us that he who does the will of God abides forever (I John 2:17), and this week, Isaiah 51:8 (above) continues with that theme: the eternal nature of God’s salvation.

We need to avoid passing over those words too quickly. Rather, we should turn them over again and again in our minds, considering the glorious nature of that promise. That God’s salvation is an eternal salvation means…

  • The New Heaven and the New Earth will be filled with the righteousness of God. And it will be so forever.
  • All our sins will have been “cast into the depths of the sea” (Micah 7:19). And it will be so forever.
  • God shall wipe away every tear from our eyes (Revelation 21:4). And it will be so forever.
  • The believer will be an adopted child of God and heir with Christ (Romans 8:16,17). And it will be so forever.
  • Christ will reign on His throne… and we with Him (II Timothy 2:12). And it will be so forever.
  • The believer will be accepted into the very presence of God. And it will be so forever.
